Community Action Partnership brings essential hygiene and care services to San Bernadino, California

Backstory

When Charles Karsch was hired at Community Action Partnership of San Bernadino (CAPSBC), there were already plans to purchase a mobile shower trailer for him to manage. Charles already knew about LavaMaeˣ and reached out to us for guidance on managing the program and joined the 1:1 Mentorship Program in July 2021.

How LavaMaeˣ Helped

Charles worked with LavaMaeˣ Program Consultant Javier de Leon over the next six months to develop the program. Javier helped Charles with staffing development, provided in-person training at our Los Angeles hygiene service, and sent over our Mobile Hygiene Toolkit and operations manual. And in February 2022, the mobile shower trailer was ready to go.

Service Model

CAPSB operates one three-stall shower trailer in San Bernadino and partners with local churches and schools to provide showers to students. They launched with three service locations in San Bernadino, and are now in the process of purchasing a new mobile laundry trailer to add to the program.
