Five Years of "You Got This!"

Five years ago, LavaMaeˣ released the first-ever mobile hygiene DIY toolkit to the world, setting the stage for people anywhere to bring mobile showers and care services to their communities

When LavaMaeˣ (then Lava Mae) launched its first mobile shower bus on the streets of San Franciso, the news spread across the globe. That attention brought thousands of inquiries from around the world from people who wanted LavaMaeˣ-style services in their own communities, and as LavaMaeˣ grew, expanding service to Los Angeles and then to Oakland, so did the requests for assistance.

In response to this increasing demand, LavaMaeˣ launched the first-ever mobile hygiene do-it-yourself toolkit to the world on July 12, 2017. Soon after, LavaMaeˣ piloted its training and consulting program to accelerate the launch of mobile shower programs across the globe.

 
 

Impact to date

To date, the toolkit has been downloaded over 5,600 times and LavaMaeˣ has accelerated the launch of 44 new programs reaching 47 cities across five countries!

LavaMaeˣ has also released additional toolkits on DIY Handwashing Stations, Pop-Up Care Villages, and Public Relations as well as hosting community training events on its online community platform LavaMaeˣ Connect.
