LavaMaeˣ Connect is a free global community of homeless service providers bringing mobile showers and other care services to the street.
Creating a worldwide network of service providers
Ever since our launch, we’ve seen exceptional and growing interest in people wanting to bring our programs to their communities. We’ve fielded more than 4,575 inquiries from city agencies, nonprofits, governments, refugee aid organizations and individuals across the U.S. and in 38 other countries.
This demand opened our eyes to the massive need for street-based services. At the same time, we observed that the most sustainable solutions to community challenges come from the community itself.
That’s why in 2018 we launched our first ever mobile hygiene toolkit--an in-depth guide to trailer purchasing, site evaluation, fundraising, and much more. Since its release the toolkit has been downloaded over 4,400 times, showing there is a clear need for education and training on our mission.
We soon started teaching others after the release of the toolkit, but the demand continued to grow and our capacity was limited. In response, we pivoted to LavaMaeˣ and focused our efforts on teaching others how to bring mobile showers and other critical services to people experiencing homelessness. To do this, we provide free DIY toolkits, in-depth training and ongoing support.
And now we’re excited to announce our new community platform, LavaMaeˣ Connect, which will host all of our toolkits, forums, training sessions, and much more!
