About Pop-Up Care Villages
LavaMaeˣ hosts Pop-Up Care Villages (PUCVs) in the San Francisco Bay Area to bring showers, case management, healthcare, clothing, haircuts, and more to the street. We designed this program to not only increase access to services but to create a joyous setting with the goal of creating a cohesive, positive sense of community.
To date, we've hosted 48 PUCVs that mobilized 230 service partners and more than 1,700 volunteers serving over 10,400 guests (in San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, and at SXSW 2017 in Austin, Texas).
