Downtown Oakland Pop-Up Care Village at Oakland City Hall

LavaMaeˣ hosts fifth Pop-Up Care Village this year, bringing multiple service providers to Oakland City Hall to dramatically improve access to critical services such as showers, haircuts, medical, employment, mental health, and much more

In partnership with The City of Oakland and the Uptown Downtown Business Improvement District, LavaMaeˣ returns to Oakland City Hall to bring Radical Hospitality to our neighbors in need. This event served over 100 guests with a variety of services that restores dignity, rekindles optimism, and fuel a sense of opportunity.

“Throughout the year, our team has been hosting small-scale Pop-Up Care Villages due to COVID-19,” Says Kris Kepler, CEO “At this event, we decided to scale bigger and closer to our traditional Pop-Up Care Villages, bringing more partners and serving more guests with the safety protocols we put in place to re-launch these events.”

LavaMaeˣ would love to thank all of our partners and volunteers who made the event such a success, and for the financial support of the Uptown Downtown Business Improvement District to make this event happen.

Although this is our last Pop-Up Care Village in Oakland this year, LavaMaeˣ is looking forward to hosting more Pop-Up Care Villages at Oakland City Hall in 2022.

Our next Pop-Up Care Village is scheduled to take place on November 17 in Downtown/Civic Center San Francisco at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
